After facing the lockdown blues for so many months, summer is finally here and many of us are starting to safely venture out of our homes again. All things considered, most people are desperate to make this a summer to remember and excited to make some new, happy memories with their friends and family. This, of course, can be done by simply spending quality time with the ones you love. However, if you’re looking to level up your summer vacation and make it one you won’t forget, here are some things you can add to your to-do list.

Get Out on the Water

For a lot of us, summer means water sports, and this is one of the best ways to embrace the summer heat and have some fun. Spending some time out in the water, whether it’s at the beach or on a lake, is a great theme for your summer vacation. To really make your water fun next level, consider a boat for you and your family. The Whaly 435 is a great starter boat to learn your way around the hull. Alternatively, you can try out things like a jet ski or rent out some surfboards at the beach. Learning a new skill and having loads of fun at the same time is a great holiday pastime.

Try Out a New Sport

Going on summer vacation doesn’t have to mean that you become a couch potato for a few weeks. Trying out and learning a new sport is a great idea for you and your partner, family or friends to add to your summer vacation list. Try and aim for a sport that’s completely new for everyone, so that you all need to learn the ropes and can progress together. Some great summer sport ideas are volleyball, golf and surfing, and if you’re not the serious sporting type, you could simply invest in an outdoor ping-pong table to liven up your nights spent around the barbeque.

Travel Somewhere Different

We all have our likes, our dislikes, our comfort zones and our favourite vacation spots – there’s nothing wrong with that! However, one way to really level up your holidaying is to try to visit someplace completely new. If you usually visit the same city every vacation, try out a new city or even a new country and explore different cultures, food and architecture. If you’re usually a beach type, try roughing it out on a camping holiday. If you like a quiet vacation up in the mountains, try visiting a bustling city. You could even plan your vacation with a different group of people and make some memories with people out of your closest group and perhaps strengthen some bonds.

There are so many ways you can change up your vacation season in 2021, all of which could be as simple or extravagant as you want them to be. Make sure to stay safe on your vacation and follow any restrictions and regulations when you travel to protect yourself and those around you.
